Wales - Day 4 - St. Fagans

On our first gorgeous sunny day, we visited a great outdoor Welsh museum called St. Fagans. It's a place where they moved various types of dwellings from Welsh history onto the grounds of a castle, St. Fagans. It's basically a huge outdoor history of Wales. We spent about 4 hours there and we could have spent 2 days!

One of the kids' favorite 'houses' was the Cockpit, built in the 17th centurys. It's a hut that held cock fights. Here are F and J reenacting a cock fight:

One of my favs was this celtic village built based on some ruins they discovered.

The size of the doorways reminded me of how much smaller people used to be, just right for J and her ever-present 'crisps'.

The museum also had this gorgeous set of woods that we tromped through. It was soooo green and beautiful:

This little church from the 13th century was another thing that fascinated J because she loved the pictures inside. She kept saying, "Tell me the story of this picture, Mommy." It was great fun to see her mind working like that.

We also got to ride a tractor-train - which made F overjoyed as he loves tractors. J was pretty happy about it too.

After our tractor-train ride, we tromped around the gardens of the castle. The kids needed some run-around time before we headed back. What a fun day of discovery!
